National Horseshoe Lapsteel 1930s

This was a fun project. It was just a shell when I got it. I had Lollar add the electronics and pickup refashioned and set up. So literally all the electronics are updated by the best in the country. So it’s perfect, and ready to gig.

I believe this is the first year National Made this rare 25” scale lap steel. Circa 1931 rivaling the Rickenbacker Frying pan (22” in scale) for the oldest guitar ever made. The next year Dobro added to the design and National followed with adding an ashtray and then a second knob. Both aren’t really great to play with. The second knob was in the way of the right hand, and eventually the jack moved to the side.
