Gibson Blueshawk

There are only a few models of Gibsons I’ve run through this shop many many times. The Blueshawk is one. I just love this one so much. Let me count the ways…

This is basically a Little Lucille for half of the price. The P90 is clearly the best pickup ever made. And the varitone is just so crucial to that blues sound. You rarely get to see a flat top Florentine cut away, and the smaller body gives it just a perfect balance of hollow body and bite. The varitone gives it unlimited headroom no matter what setting…to keep it all very B.B. King.

The tops of these always have checking in a little bit of finish wear. The bottom of the bout by the strap button have some marks, but nothing you can really see while you’re playing it. I just set it up, dressed the frets and cleaned it. It is ready to rock (or blues)!
