So, anyone want a prewar guitar? No, not WW2. The Civil War. This is the oldest antique this shop has ever come across. Cxxxx was one of the first documented builders for Martin and this guitar was made shortly after his tenure there. Therefore I’m not sure there can be an older non - Martin American guitar readily available for sale.

This is a little smaller than a normal parlor size, and sounds amazing. Bracing is a reglued and everything seems original besides the frets and neck nut. It’s in incredible condition with not much work done over the last 150 years or so. Just a couple cracks repaired, and at recent Refret. The open fret intonation could be a dialed in, but all in all this is an incredible instrument and a one of a kind piece of history. Just look at the Rosewood back sides. You don’t even see wood like this anymore... totally crazy.
